On 4th and 5th of July 2023, SUSTAINABLE CITY Network organized the 5th General Assembly of the European Research Project DECIDO in Halki. The assembly was held hybrid to facilitate those who could not attend in person.
The purpose of the meeting was to review the progress of the project so far in all work packages, to present the DECIDO portal reconfiguration and the pilot applications during the 2nd phase of the project experimentation. The meeting was attended by the Mayor of Halki, Mr. Evangelos Fragakis, the Deputy Mayor, Mr. Vassilios Roussakis, the General Manager of SUSTAINABLE CITY Network, Mr. Ioannis Georgizas, as well as the other members of the project's participatory co-creation team.
On the 1st day of the meeting, after Mr. Georgizas' greetings and the Mayor's welcome, the presentation on the 2nd phase of the policy formulation for power outages in the Municipality of Halki (study area), was successfully held by the executives of SUSTAINABLE CITY Network. The partners followed the presentation with interest and expressed their enthusiasm for the policy-making process, making reasonable comments. Subsequently, another session was held with the members of the co-creation team, which detailed the actions taken so far and all the necessary steps to be taken for a smooth and successful implementation of the policy.
The members of the co-creation team once again voiced their willingness to participate in the formulation and implementation of the policy with the ultimate aim of addressing an issue that has been of concern to them for years. During the 2nd day of the meeting, several presentations and discussions were held on the next steps of the project, followed by a visit to the Town Hall of the island, in order for the partners to have a look at the energy consumption sensor installed by SUSTAINABLE CITY Network to record power outage events. The collection of this data is very crucial to achieve the objectives of the Greek Group and to create a policy that will anticipate the possibility of a power cut. For this reason, the installation of the sensor in the Town Hall was an important step in achieving this objective and solving the problem. For more photos, please visit the Gallery.
