As the National Network of the EUCF Initiative for Greece, the Cities Network "SUSTAINABLE CITY" successfully organized the 4th National Webinar and presented the 4th and last Call for Applications.
Through the project, Municipalities can gain access to financial support of up to €60,000 for performing studies in order to increase their projects' maturity within the framework of green energy and sustainable development, such as improvement of buildings’ energy efficiency, energy saving and carbon footprint reduction. During the webinar, representatives of several Greek Municipalities were informed about the funding opportunities offered by the EUCF and the Funding Application process. The General Manager of SUSTAINABLE CITY Network, Mr. Ioannis Georgizas, greeted the participants, while briefly mentioning the Network’s purpose of establishment and its contribution to the project. Consequently, the Country Expert, Dr. Panagiotis Michail, elaborated on the usefulness of the initiative, as well as the Greek Municipalities funded in the previous calls (Thermi, Vrilissia, Edessa, Xylokastro-Eurostini).
The webinar resumed with the presentation of Mr. Christos Vassilakis, associate of SUSTAINABLE CITY Network, who mentioned the requirements that the beneficiaries and their funding proposals must meet to be considered valid. Finally, the Project Manager, Ms. Nikoletta Maneta, analysed and clarified the eligible costs, the eligibility criteria of the proposals, the changes to the application platform and demonstrated the application process to the platform. In order to avoid that part of the available funds is not allocated in this last call of the project, a cross-regions waiting list will apply after the evaluation. In case selected applicants fail to sign the Grant Agreement, funds will be assigned to the applications with the highest score in the evaluation, regardless of the region. We kindly remind you that the 4th Call for Applications will remain open until 30 September 2022 (6:00 p.m. EEST, Greece local time).
