1st Training Event of the European Project “SETOFF”

The 1st training event of the European Project "SETOFF", for the evaluation and formulation of the project's training curriculum, took place in Kavala on 1-3 March 2023.

The three-day event was attended by representatives of the Fire Service and the Police Department of Kavala, the Police Department of the Municipality of Benaquasil, Spain and representatives of Civil Protection from the municipalities-members of SUSTAINABLE CITY Network.

Among the participating from Member-Municipalities of SUSTAINABLE CITY were Mr. Antonios Antonopoulos, General Secretary of the Municipality of Elliniko Argyroupolis, Mr. Emmanuel Kitsellis, Deputy Mayor of Education, Civil Protection, Tourism & Ecology of the Municipality of Kaisariani, Mr. Dimitrios Tectonidis, Head of Civil Protection of the Municipality of Didymoteicho, Mr. Georgios Tsakalidis, Head of the Civil Protection Department of the Municipality of Kavala and Mr. Georgios Moumtzis, Head of the Quality of Life Department & Former Head of the Environment and Civil Protection Department.

Scientists (in person or online) informed the participants during the three days with detailed presentations on vital Civil Protection issues. On the side of SUSTAINABLE CITY, the results of the interviews granted and the scenarios for the development of the educational material were presented.

It is worth mentioning that in the framework of this project, for the first time in the world, the technique of paper exercises was applied in the early stage of creating and testing the training material, optimization and evaluation of a professional training program for Civil Protection.
