Successful Completion of Digital Twins Online Training

With strong participation from local government officials from Greece and Cyprus, the two-day online training event entitled “Greek and Cypriot Cities in the New Digital Era” was successfully concluded on May 26–27, 2025.

The event was organized by SUSTAINABLE CITY, in collaboration with the Union of Cyprus Municipalities and the CYENS Centre of Excellence, within the framework of the activities of the Smart Communities Network, an initiative of the European Commission aimed at strengthening the readiness of European communities for digital transformation.

Over the course of two days, dozens of participants from municipalities and regions of Greece and Cyprus had the opportunity to become familiar with modern digital tools and methodologies. The agenda included, among other topics:

• Development and implementation of a digital strategy at the local level
• Introduction to freely available digital platforms such as LORDIMAS, the Digital Twin Toolbox, and the Online Procurement Helpdesk
• Guidance on participation in the Digital Europe program

The success of the event reflects the growing need and commitment of municipalities to meet the challenges of the digital era by making use of the available European tools.

SUSTAINABLE CITY remains a steadfast supporter of local authorities in adopting and implementing modern technologies, while strengthening cross-border cooperation and the exchange of best practices between Greece and Cyprus.
