In the framework of the European project HyPro4ST, a labour market needs analysis was conducted during March and April 2023 on the topic of project management in sustainable tourism.
The Greek partners (SCN, OTC, CHA, PI4SD, ReadLab P.C.) held meetings for the proper distribution of work, aiming at a comprehensive result. The analysis was divided into a quantitative and qualitative research, focusing on the following areas:
In order to create the National Labour Market Needs Report in each partner country, a mix of data collection methods was used such as targeted questionnaires, interviews and literature review. More specifically, the questionnaires were addressed to stakeholders and individuals having a direct link to the tourism sector, while interviews were conducted with the members of the two main groups established within the project (the Consultative Body of Experts and the Focus Group). These groups consist of professionals with long experience in project management and/or tourism. The literature review covered all the above-mentioned areas, focusing on innovative, effective and sustainable good practices. The main results of the research highlighted the lack of skills in project management in the tourism sector, both in terms of hard skills and soft skills. Based on the overall results of the 6 national reports of the participating countries (Greece, Italy, Croatia, Slovenia, Hungary, Italy, Slovenia and Portugal), the appropriate training material and the professional profile of the "Sustainable and Hybrid Project Manager" will be developed.
