On Thursday 18 May 2023, the 1st workshop of the European project SETOFF took place at the offices of the Hellenic Institute for Occupational Health and Safety (ELINYAE) on "Challenges in crisis and disaster management".
The event was attended by the General Manager of SUSTAINABLE CITY, Mr. Ioannis Georgizas, along with its executives and representatives from its Member Municipalities. More specifically, the Deputy Mayor of Environment and Civil Protection, Mr. Vassilis Kritikos and the Secretary General, Mr. Antonios Antonopoulos, from the Municipality of Elliniko - Argyroupolis, were present, while the Municipality of Kaisariani was represented by the Deputy Mayor of Education, Tourism and Civil Protection, Mr. Emmanuel Kitsellis. The workshop was also attended by other local authorities, volunteer groups and representatives of the Technical Security and Fire Brigade, both in person and via videoconference. During the workshop, a short presentation was given by Mr.Hallaris, professor of the International University and project coordinator, on crisis and disaster management and the scope of the project. In addition, the results of the survey on civil protection training needs and the thematic modules of the curriculum were presented by the ELINYAE staff.
At the end, the representatives of the stakeholders had the opportunity to participate in the panel of speakers and share their thoughts on the educational approach of the project. Important comments were made by the representatives of the municipalities who suggested the incorporation of good practices in the training project. Comments are closed.
